These Guidelines provide a set of key measures that States and courts should follow to ensure that use of videoconferencing in judicial proceedings does not undermine the right to a fair trial as enshrined in Article 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) and meets the requirements of the Convention for the Protection of Individuals with regard to Automatic Processing of Personal Data.
