Age assessment is a complex process with possible far-reaching consequences for children in migration undergoing age assessment.
This publication has been designed to help officials in public authorities and human rights institutions representatives understand how to ensure that age assessment procedures are conducted in line with obligations under international and European human rights law and are respectful of the rights of the child.
It also aims to guide public officials to consider triggering changes when devising policies and legislation with respect to age assessment procedures.
